I like to keep these products on hand:
Angstrom Silver: Kills coccidia, bacteria, viruses, fungus. Angstom is a smaller particle than Colloidal.
Probiotic Miracle: Helps restore gut after deworming and after antibiotic use, and is also helpful in strengthening the immune system.
Vibactra and Paxxin: Used in the prevention of and treatment for Parvo and other viral diseases.
There is almost nothing I can think of more important to have on hand for the puppies than these three products. These are a literal life saver for fighting illness in puppies.
My current protocol is to give puppies Vibactra before an outing. Give them a dose of Angstrom Silver when we return home (apx .2 of a cc This tiny measurement syringe is in the package of Vibactra). Then, give them another dose of Vibactra a few hours later.
I give Vibactra and Paxxin three times a day for four days before they go to their new homes and ask that you continue this for three days or longer when you take them home, because there is a lot of change in their lives at this time. Vibactra is like an antiviral....and like an antibiotic. It strengthens the immune system. Paxxin is more of a help to the digestive system.
Other products you may wish to keep on hand are these:
Kochi Free for Coccidia and Giardia
Molly's Herbal Wormwood Combo I had a dog positive for Coccidia, used this ONCE at double the dose. Then, sent another stool sample in and it was negative. It works!
Digestive Enzymes if a dog seems to not be digesting food properly. Fasting a dog or a puppy for a day can be the right thing to do if there is digestive upset. Don't worry, dogs and puppies naturally fast from time to time. They definitely wouldn't hunt if they aren't feeling right.

Puppies have been dewormed weekly since the age of 5 weeks. We raise chickens and ducks, who can carry roundworm, so we work hard to keep our puppies roundworm free. Our dogs and puppies have never tested positive for any worm, other than roundworm. Stool samples will be taken to veterinarian to be certain our puppies are free of parasites. I deworm with Land of Havilah Parasite Formula. I also sometimes use Black Walnut Haul powder. I am not apposed to Strongid dewormer, though I prefer herbal dewormers since they battle all internal parasite types, as well as strengthen the immune system of the dog. If the puppies test positive for roundworm, I deworm again with a larger dose and send another sample. I will use Strongid if the herbal dewormers are not affective before puppies leave for their new homes. I always have a NEGATIVE for internal parasites fecal sample before puppies go to your home.
I will send two doses of herbal dewormer with you to give to your puppy. Give one dose within a few days and give the second dose a week later.
Once puppies are 12 weeks of age, I deworm bi monthly. Then at 20 weeks, I deworm monthly. I deworm all our animals (ducks, chickens, goats, dogs) on the farm monthly. You may not need to deworm so often. It is good to send a stool sample to the veterinarian each month or so, to be certain your puppy is parasite free. As an adult dog, a stool sample sent every 6-12 months is sufficient.
Flea and Tick prevention: If you are raising your puppy naturally, consider these:
Neem Oil here
No More Dog Fleas here
Rose Geranium Oil
Wondercide
Natural Care Flea and Tick Spray
I use only Free and Clear laundry detergents. I've used a variety of brands. I haven't identified a favorite. Please consider how sensitive a dog's sense of smell is. It must be overwhelming for them to have scented bedding.
This is a link to an excellent article about Parvo:
Dogs Naturally: Parvo Virus
Excerpt:
28% of vaccinated puppies still get Parvo
Parvo kills more vaccinated puppies than unvaccinated
During university, I worked in a veterinary hospital. There was a Parvo epidemic during my time there. I was the kennel manager and I cared for all the parvo puppies.
Curious, I asked the veterinarian, "How many of these puppies have been vaccinated against Parvo?"
He replied, "All of them."
Surprised, I asked in order to confirm, "Of ALL the puppies and dogs who have had Parvo, including the ones who are now back to their homes, how many have been vaccinated against Parvo?"
The veterinarian again replied, "All of them."
I reacted, "So not one of these sick puppies came here as an unvaccinated puppy?" Veterinarian, "Right".
So then, I did my next university research paper on dog and cat vaccines. I learned a lot. I never vaccinated another animal again.
About Vaccines:
There is so much information on these Australian Shepherd Websites, I'm going to simply paste the links here:

There are many articles in links above, to help decide the following:
1. If an owner desires to vaccinate. (Only rabies is required in most, but not all states). Most dog boarding facilities and training facilities require additional vaccinations that are not state required. But I have found a dog boarding place here in Ohio, who is supportive of naturally reared dogs. I have also learned that some personal dog trainers do not require vaccinations. Most people are very capable of training their dogs themselves, with the help of reading and videos. The important part of training is to also work with your puppy/dog in public around distractions. Socializing is very important for your dog. Dogs need times where they are playing with other dogs. And they need times when they are around other dogs still focused on training.
2. What age is best to vaccinate, if vaccines are desired.
3. How to selectively vaccinate. (Some vaccines have a lot of research supporting them, others do not, and can even be harmful to the health of dogs.)
4. How to feed dogs for optimal health!
